Position Responsibilities:
- Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions. Receives general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
- Interacts frequently with inter-organizational personnel and external customers. Represents the organization by providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
- Mentors junior team members and provides guidance and solutions.
- Design and implement networking solutions within Azure, including Private Endpoints, Service Endpoints, VNet Integration.
- Understand the concept of Load Balancing able to differentiate between Layer 4 and Layer 7 load balancing and associate them with appropriate Azure Services.
- Configure and manage Azure Load Balancers, Traffic Managers and Application Gateways ensuring efficient load balancing and troubleshooting any related issues.
- Possess a strong understanding of DNS Zones within Azure, including setting up DNS records and resolving DNS-related issues.
- Familiarity with AKS network plugins, such as Azure CNI (Container Network Interface), Azure CNI Overlay and Kubenet.
- Manage VNets and Subnets within Azure, including designing and implementing VNet peering, network security groups (NSGs), User Route Tables.
- Should be able to identify and perform adequate Subnet capacity planning and optimization.
- Conduct capacity planning for Azure networking resources, assessing network requirements, and estimating resource needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of our Azure network infrastructure.
- Have good understanding of Azure API Management Gateway
- Work with networking for AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) based solutions, understanding concepts like Reverse Proxy, Ingress, Virtual Service, and Istio
- Ability to work with Monitoring tools like Network Watcher.
- Understand concepts related to DNAT, NAT and NAT Gateway
- Stay up to date with the latest Azure networking technologies and best practices
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor or Master’s with relevant qualification required.
- Strong understanding of Azure networking services: Azure Virtual Network, Azure Load Balancer, Azure Application Gateway, Azure VPN Gateway, and ExpressRoute.
- Proficiency in network protocols and technologies: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, BGP, etc.
- Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages such as Terraform, PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.
- Strong Experience with Networking with regards to Azure Kubernetes Services like Ingress, Service Mesh etc..
- Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting tools like Azure Network Watcher and Azure Monitor.
- Good to know working on Virtual Appliance like Azure Firewall, Palo Alto Firewall
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate.
- Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Experience with hybrid cloud network solutions.
Typical Education & Experience:
- Â Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 8 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience, 9 years’ related work experience, etc.)
