- Strong knowledge of Cognos administration on UNIX platform
- Installation and configuration of Cognos BI tools
- Understanding of COGNOS architecture  including framework manager
- Evaluate  understand and implement patches to Cognos environment
- Proactive approach to server environment monitoring  Development  UAT Production DR
- Can handle Cognos administration tasks like creating data source connections  publishing packages  scheduling reports  user creation  security administration  deployment of packages and reports
- Ability to configure DB2 SQL Server Oracle database connections  both at a server application server level as well as within Cognos
- Basic understanding of Role Based Authentication
- Basic understanding of SiteMinder and single sign on
- Strong communication  documentation  negotiation  problem solving skills
