Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to create and modify the standard designs of equipment, systems, or installations, including standard specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, or construction, using standard design concepts.

Each day, you will design engineering solutions, including drawings and calculations according to contract specifications.

You will also showcase your expertise by contributing to design reviews and design verification and modifying the design, as necessary.

The work model for the role is: Onsite This role is contributing to the Motion Traction Division in Nelamangala, Bangalore. You will be mainly accountable for:

• Assume responsibility for the specification, implementation, and documentation of converter software used in customer applications according to design guidelines and best practices.

• Apply expertise to software design and carry out project-specific adaptations to Codesys-based (IEC 61131-3) software.

• Understand and configure control hardware and product firmware to suite project specific adaptations.

• Conduct software tests during converter type-tests in the lab.

Fine-tune the software during vehicle commissioning.

• Provide professional support to service department as well as to the customers. • Support troubleshooting activities on installed base.

Qualifications for the role

  • Degree in E&E (Electrical Engineering) or E&C, complemented by proven track record in process control and software design (including Codesys, or similar IEC 61131-3 based environment).
  • More than 3 to 5-year experience in control system, Traction control & Aux converter Products controls. TCMS/VCU knowledge is added advantage.
  • Good understanding of electrical installations in rail vehicles (Knowledge on Electrical Locomotive/EMU/Metro is an advantage).
  • Basic knowledge of high-level protocols like CANopen, J1939, Ethernet (TCPIP/UDP/TRDP), MVB is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken, other languages are an advantage.
  • A Well-structured approach to problem solving and ability to learn fast.
  • Ability to work effectively in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across the globe.
  • Willingness to perform commissioning tasks at sites when required (approx. 30% of working hours).
